Attorneys Luis Midence and Matt Skillern founded this firm after spending years as assistant district attorney’s in Smith and Travis County and working for criminal defense law firms.  While working for the DA’s office, Luis Midence and Matt Skillern were assigned to the criminal trial division and white collar divisions of their respective offices.  While prosecuting serious crimes, Luis and Matt noticed how poorly many criminal defense attorneys handled these cases, needlessly exposing their clients to significant negative consequences.  Luckily, Matt and Luis met in Houston while working for criminal defense firms and decided that they shared the same passion with regards to defending the rights of the accused.  It didn’t take long for Luis and Matt to join forces in forming Midence & Skillern, PLLC.
